On the picturesque Stanley River at the entrance to New London Bay, the Stanley Bridge Marine Aquarium and Manor of Birds offers a delightful way to spend an afternoon uncovering the fascinating mysteries of the ocean.
With live fish aquariums and touch tanks, North America’s largest collection of mounted birds – over 700 specimens - the World of Butterflies display, and a history of Malpeque oysters, the Irish moss and shellfish industries, it’s an educational experience for the whole family.
After touring the aquarium, browse through our unique, on-site gift shop – a shell collector’s dream with shells from around the world. We have t-shirts, books, postcards, calendars and souvenirs – everything you need to remember your Island vacation when you return home.
Open daily at 9:30 a.m. from June to October.
Now that you've worked up an appetite, join us at Carr's Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Come in, sit down and relax – watch the oyster shucker at work while you enjoy our fresh seafood or other choices. Take in the view of beautiful New London Bay and Stanley Bridge Wharf from our deck – there’s always something going on, whether it’s boats coming and going or people jumping off the bridge.
We feature world famous Malpeque oysters from our own Carr's Shellfish, clams, mussels, lobster, scallops, fish & chips – we also have a wide selection of choices for those who don’t eat seafood, a full wine and cocktail menu as well as a children’s menu. We have live entertainment several days a week, call for details! Open from 11 a.m. until late night.
